You guessed it... from the pod falls the tiny seed which takes root and lives for thousands of years, growing up to be a redwood tree!These pictures are from the Muir Woods, named for John Muir who inspired people to take care of nature. One of my favorite quotes is from John Muir: "This grand show is eternal. It is always sunrise somewhere; the dew is never all dried at once; a shower is forever falling; vapor ever rising. Eternal sunrise, eternal sunset, eternal dawn and gloaming, on seas and continents and islands, each in its turn, as the round earth rolls."
